The Puzzling World of Winston Breen

I've just finished reading a book called The Puzzling World of Winston Breen. Its a good book about a boy named Winston he loved puzzles a much as a dog loves his bone, and he bought his little sister a box for her birthday. Then his little sister found a secret compartment in the box. In the secret compartment he found 4 wooden strips with letters on it. Then he found out they belonged to Walter Fredericks (the guy who founded the town he lives in) and long ago Walter Fredericks hid a ring and he has to partner up with 3 other people who also had the puzzle pieces. At the end of the first day of ring finding they didn’t find anything, but then someone who they trusted broke into Winston's house and told him to find the ring, in the end he found the ring and the guy was thrown in jail. Winston had trusted the wrong people.

Winston and the group of treasure hunters put their trust into the wrong hands. They trusted a news reporter who was a girl named Brenda, and Zach Dilmer whose dad was friends with Walter Fredericks. According to Zach her name wasn’t even printed on the newspaper she so calls works for. That wasn’t the smartest thing to do because you know she could've been anyone which she was, but having an ex-cop in the group you would think would make them more aware of this stuff but he didn’t even know about that. They should've looked her up or something especially when it's about a really expensive ring.

Winston and the rest of the treasure-hunting group trusted the wrong people. They trusted Zach Dilmer; even though they had all the right to trust him they should know the nicest people are always not what they seem to be. Winston said it himself he should’ve been more observant because they envelopes weren’t old like the other ones. I would be very disappointed in Winston because he said to Brenda that he was the best puzzle solver in the group, well if your a good puzzle solver then why didn’t you notice that before? The puzzle-loving group should be more observant.

All in all Winston and the rest of the group where really being reckless during their hunt. Yeah I know they where excited but they also had to realize that they're looking for a priceless ring that costs a lot of money and a lot of people want that money. So if your ever doing something top secret keep it top secret. It doesn’t matter if it legal or illegal you need to keep it a secret. Like if your doing something against the law your not going to tell everyone on the street “hey I’m about to rob that jewelry store down the block” that’s not smart. So be smart and keep important things a secret.
